Secondary Water Season Startup- Close User Valve by April 1st: Please ensure the closure of your secondary water user valve by April 1st. This action will prevent water from entering your system.
- System Availability by April 15th: We anticipate that our system will be fully pressurized and available for use by April 15th.
- Use Caution Regarding Water Usage: While most areas will be fully pressurized by April 15th, we advise residents not to utilize their secondary irrigation water until their landscapes require it.
- Precautions Before Sod or Seeding: We recommend refraining from scheduling any sod or seeding until you have verified the availability of water.
The Weber Basin Water Conservancy District primarily wholesales secondary water to water providers, who in turn retail it to their customers. In order to increase customer service and decrease costs for users, the District has partnered with several agencies to operate and maintain District-owned secondary pipelines and connections. Kaysville has three different agencies within the city: Benchland, Davis and Weber Canal Company, and Haights Creek. Each operates independently from the city and has their own rules, rates, and schedules. Each will have their own water restrictions and enforcement. Please visit their individual websites to find out what those restrictions are or for questions about outside watering. Interactive Irrigation Boundaries Map

New! Power Outage & Communication SystemIn our continuous effort to enhance communication and response efficiency during power outages, Kaysville City is pleased to introduce a comprehensive new system for reporting and receiving updates on power outages. Launched in January 2024, this innovative approach leverages the Power Department's Advanced Meter Infrastructure to offer predictive outage analysis, significantly enhancing our service during such events. Residents now have multiple convenient options for reporting outages: - Text 801-497-7117 (for those who have registered their phone number) - Call 801-544-8925 to access our automated phone system at any time - Report through our website at https://www.kaysville.gov/960/Outages Our website also features a live outage map showing affected areas and the number of residences impacted. Furthermore, registered users can receive real-time updates and estimated restoration times directly via text. In a significant update to our Outage Management System (OMS), starting May 11, 2024, all residents with a cell phone number listed in our billing system will be automatically enrolled to receive these updates. This ensures that you are promptly informed and empowered with the latest information during outages. This step towards modernizing our communication with the community underscores our commitment to not only keeping the lights on but also ensuring that our residents are well-informed and supported during power interruptions.

Protect Your Home from Spring FloodingAlthough we won’t experience the high water runoff that we did last spring, it is always a good idea to take preventive measures to minimize the risk of potential flooding. Here are a few things you can do: - If you have a waterway in your backyard or neighborhood, remove any obstructions or items along the stream or creek that could impede the flow of water. Lawn furniture, fire pits, wood, and other equipment can block water from flowing through the culverts. - Clear debris from storm drains and gutters near your home when water is not flowing. - Double-check your rain gutters around your home and ensure that water is flowing away from the house. - Check to ensure that your sump pump is working correctly and consider having a backup. - If sandbags are used to protect homes from water, they should be placed near doors and window wells. - If you notice significant obstructions in streams or channels, contact Public Works.

Sewer Rate Increase - July 1stOn December 14, 2023, the Central Davis Sewer District held a Public Hearing and approved a $10.00 per month user fee increase, effective July 1, 2024, with an increase of up to $3 per month per year for the next four years. This increase is necessary due to increased chemical costs to meet State-mandated regulations, increased costs for biosolids disposal resulting from property loss caused by the West Davis Corridor, increased costs of renewal and replacement of aging infrastructure, ongoing operations and maintenance, financial stability and capital improvement, and minimizing future bonding needs and associated costs. For questions, contact the Central Davis Sewer District at (801) 451-2190.
