Kaysville City SWATThe Kaysville Police Department has partnered with the Bountiful Metropolitan S.W.A.T. Team, which is made up of members from the Bountiful, Centerville, Farmington, Kaysville, Woods Cross, and West Bountiful Police Departments.  Officer Joshua Steadman and Detective Michael Martinez are members of the S.W.A.T. team from the Kaysville Police Department.

S.W.A.T. stands for Special Weapons and Tactics.  The S.W.A.T. Team is comprised of two elements:  Tactical Response and Crisis Negotiations.  The Bountiful Metropolitan S.W.A.T. Team is part of the Crisis Response Unit.

S.W.A.T. Teams respond to non-routine situations that the Patrol Division doesn't have the personnel, time, equipment, or training to address.  The S.W.A.T. Team's primary objective is to resolve issues as safely as possible.  They do this by attempting to isolate the problem, utilize negotiators to negotiate the safe release of victims and hostages, and facilitate the peaceful surrender of suspects.
