Municipal Election Information

Municipal Elections are held in odd numbered years. Municipal Elections do not occur the same year as the Federal Presidential elections. The election is non-partisan, meaning a candidate is not nominated by a party. The Mayor and City Council serve four-year terms.

2025 Municipal Election Information

In 2025, the positions of Mayor and two City Council seats (each with a four-year term) will be up for election. Candidates run at-large and are elected by all voters citywide, rather than by district or precinct.

The Municipal General Election will be conducted by mail on November 4, 2025 (UCA 20A-1-201).

Ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters three weeks before the election. If you are a military (currently deployed) or overseas citizen eligible to vote in state and local elections, you may register to vote and request a regular absentee ballot for upcoming elections.

Ballots must be received by the County Clerk’s Office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day (November 4) to be counted—postmarks do not count anymore.

A secure ballot drop box is available at the Kaysville Library (215 North Fairfield Road, Kaysville) and can be used through Election Day.

Early voting will be held October 28-31, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Davis County Admin Building, 61 South Main Street, Farmington.

On Election Day, in-person voting will also be available at the Kaysville Library from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
