Mayor Tran

Dear Kaysville Residents,

As we step into a new year, I am filled with optimism and gratitude for the people who make Kaysville such a remarkable place to live, work, and raise a family. With each new chapter comes both opportunity and reflection—and this moment brings us a bit of both.

First, I am excited to warmly welcome our newest City Council member, Joshua McBride. Josh brings fresh energy, thoughtful perspective, and a sincere commitment to public service. He cares deeply about our community and its future, and I look forward to working alongside him as we continue to move Kaysville forward with collaboration, transparency, and vision. Please join me in welcoming Josh and his family as they begin this important role of service.

At the same time, we say a heartfelt thank-you and goodbye to Perry Oaks,  who is retiring after years of dedicated service on the City Council. Perry has been a steady, principled voice—always willing to ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and put Kaysville’s long-term interests first. His commitment, integrity, and care for this community have left a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for the time and talents he has given. On behalf of the entire city, thank you, Perry, for serving so faithfully.

Looking ahead, I am incredibly excited about the year before us. Kaysville is poised for continued progress—strengthening our infrastructure, supporting responsible growth, investing in public safety, and preserving the character that makes our city special. One important decision coming before our community this year will be the opportunity for residents to consider a west-side fire station, which will be placed on the ballot for voter consideration. This proposed project is focused on long-term public safety, improved response times, and ensuring our city is prepared for the future. As always, we are committed to providing clear information so residents can make an informed decision.

Most importantly, our hope for the future remains rooted in you—our residents. Your engagement, ideas, and willingness to participate are what make local government work. With experienced leadership, new voices at the table, and a shared commitment to service, we are ready to embrace the opportunities ahead and continue building a city we are proud to call home.

Thank you for your trust, your involvement, and your love for Kaysville. I look forward to a great year ahead—working together for an even brighter future.

 With gratitude and optimism,

Tami Tran
Mayor, Kaysville

Community Gatherings of Remembrance and Honor

Angel of Hope Vigil

Angel of Hope Vigil 2026

The Angel of Hope Vigil was held on December 6th and served as a meaningful gathering for the community. Thank you to Zann and Emilee Call, along with the many friends and family members who coordinate this event each year.

The Angel of Hope statue stands as a beacon of comfort and strength for parents and families who have experienced the loss of a child. It serves as a powerful symbol of remembrance and healing, reminding us that even in our darkest moments, hope endures. The statue is located in the southwest corner of the Kaysville City Cemetery at 500 East Crestwood Drive, made possible through the generosity of local residents and businesses.

This year also marks an important milestone, as the Angel of Hope statue will be moved to its permanent home with the construction of the first phase of the cremation garden at the Kaysville Cemetery.

Wreaths Across America 2025

Wreaths Across America

The City was honored to participate in the annual Wreaths Across America event, a meaningful tribute recognizing and remembering the men and women who served our country. Community members, veterans, and families gathered to place wreaths and reflect on the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes.

The wreaths are made possible through generous contributions from our community. This year, we were able to place 50 wreaths.

A sincere thank you to Alyssa Postel and Nancy Tippets for coordinating the Wreaths Across America event. Your dedication towards this meaningful event has touched many hearts and helped ensure this meaningful tradition continues to inspire and comfort our community.

Monthly Cemetery Cleanup

Cemetery Maintenance Reminder

The City Cemetery's monthly clean-up happens on the first consecutive Monday and Tuesday of each month except January.

During these clean-ups, all decorations—except faux flowers in permanent vases—will be removed by cemetery staff. This includes shepherd’s hooks, solar lights, potted plants, figurines, knick-knacks, and other decorations. If there are any items you wish to keep, please remove them prior to the scheduled cleanup days.

Phase 1 Cremation Garden

Cremation Garden Phase One Begins This Spring

The first phase of the cremation garden will begin this spring and is scheduled for completion in May. This will be a welcome addition to the cemetery and will provide new options in response to the growing trend toward cremation.

New Secondary Water User Portal Now Available

Davis and Weber Counties Canal Company (DWCCC) has partnered with Weber Basin Water Conservancy District to provide a new online water user portal called MyWater, designed to help secondary water users better understand and monitor their water use.

Secondary water users are encouraged to visit mywaterutah.org to create a MyWater account. Once your account is created, please email DWCCC to confirm your property address and email address. You will then receive an email linking your MyWater account to your specific property. If you own more than one property, multiple meters can be viewed under a single account.

DWCCC is working to have as many users registered as possible before the 2026 water season.

Why You May Not See Water Use Data Yet

After signing up, you may or may not immediately see water use data for your property. This can occur for several reasons:

-  A new meter and radio have been installed and are actively communicating (data visible).
-  A meter is installed but has an older radio that will be replaced during the off-season.
-  The meter and radio were installed after the most recent water season.
-  A meter or radio has not yet been installed but will be prior to the upcoming water season.

If no data appears, please check back during April or May, once secondary water use begins. If something does not appear to be functioning properly, contact DWCCC and a work order will be created. DWCCC asks for patience as this new system is implemented and older radios are replaced.

Why This Matters

The State of Utah now requires all secondary water services to be metered, with usage data shared directly with water users. By 2030, secondary water billing will be based on metered use. The MyWater portal is intended to help users understand their water use now and prepare for future changes, including the potential establishment of tiered water rates.
