This morning (August 13th), crews have mobilized to the intersection of Kay Circle and the D&RGW rail trail to begin work on connecting these two stub roads (see the attached photo). Work will likely take about 2 weeks.
This is a project that has long been talked about with UTA (who owns the rail trail), but their approval was just recently obtained. This work may temporarily slow the flow of pedestrian and bike traffic through the area; however, access will remain throughout the duration of the project at this location.
We appreciate the efforts of various officials with UTA and both Mayor’s Hiatt and Witt who recognized the impact this project would have on providing safer access for school children and more direct routes for emergency responders.
