[ARCHIVED] Kaysville self-fill sandbag station reopening

Sandbags

Kaysville PW will have a self- fill bag station set up for Kaysville residents and businesses located at the City’s Operations Center (721 W Old Mill Lane). The hours of availability will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (M-Th), and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Fri). Closed Saturday and Sundays.

  • Please call first to confirm availability – (801) 544-8112
  • Empty bags and sand will be provided. Limit 10 bags per household
  • Bags are only available for Kaysville businesses and residents (staff will need to know the exact location that the bags will be used at for tracking and monitoring)
  • The City will not be able to reuse bags as the bag material isn’t durable over prolonged use or time. Residents will be responsible for properly disposing of sandbags after use (bags cannot be dumped in streams, creeks or drainages).
  • Davis County Public Works also has a 24 hour bag filling station set up at their facility
    1. 1500 E 650 N, Fruit Heights, UT 84037
    2. (801) 444-2230
    3. Limit of 25 bags per household
    4. Locations of use and disposal requirements also apply
  • Additional bags can be purchased at many home and farm stores

While the current snowpack is tracking in-line with 2011 levels (the previous record high for the Mountains above Kaysville), the City will continue working closely with Davis County and monitoring the snowpack levels, and the NOAA temperature and precipitation climate predictions for the 8-14 day and 3 month outlooks.

Please look for debris or items that could obstruct stream or storm drain flows. Leaves, branches, furniture or other items that could obstruct flows should be moved away from channels and pipes.

Please call Kaysville City Public Works at (801) 544-8112 with any questions or to report flooding or related concerns. Our after-hours number is (801) 299-7733.
