[ARCHIVED] Celebrate Girls in Sports

Girls in Sports Flyer (1)

Kaysville City Girls in Sports day.  As part of the National Girls in Sports day we are hosting an event to help girls see what sports has to offer in their lives.  At Davis High School on Feb 2nd there is an open house for the girls in our community to come to the high school and meet the high school girls' coaches and players, do a clinic with them and help them to see what sports will be offered for them in High School and beyond.  As a recreation department we are then able to show them what sports we offer here that will prepare them.  We want girls to be excited to play sports and to stay active.  Also it is a Celebration of 50 years of Title IX.

Kaysville City and Davis High School.  Also some prizes to hand out to the girls from our local partnerships the Utah Jazz and Dick's Sporting Goods

This event will happen on Feb 2nd.  We are planning on over 100 girls for a first time event.  We will let you know how many girls attend after the event.

Kaysville City Celebration of Girls in Sports and 50 Years of Title IX.  This is a brand new event for our community.  The girls programs in our area have dropped in numbers.  We were trying to find a way to teach and inform the girls and families in our community about the opportunities there are for girls to play sports and to stay active.  We hope to make this an annual celebration and expand to reach the needs of the girls in Kaysville.

This event is an eye opener for the community based upon the number of girls in sports.  They need to see the opportunities they have to play and what they can do in sports. Sports is a way of life for must boys and the same can't be said for all girls and we want to change that.  By showing them high school girls that are playing sports and showing them what sports can do in their lives.

By using the day of National Girls in Sports day.  This is a new event to honor and celebrate girls in our community.  This has been done here before!

Kaysville City & Davis High School- Celebration of Girls in Sports - 50 Years of Title IX!  This event is a chance for girls in our community to see what sports are offered at the high school for them.  Also the benefits of playing sports in their lives.   Girls and Women need to know that sports are for them also. This annual celebration will support our community in continuing to provide programs for everyone, no matter their race, ethnicity or gender!
