Now that school is back in session, officers have been seeing several violations in our school zones.
Adult and Student drivers please remember to SLOW DOWN and BE ALERT in and around all school zones.
When approaching a school zone crosswalk, please remember that you must stop and remain stopped at the crosswalk until all pedestrians have exited the crosswalk. This is different from a standard crosswalk, where you may proceed after the pedestrian has cleared the motorist’s half of the roadway. When you approach a school zone, don’t forget to slow down, be alert, and follow crossing guard instructions.
Please take the time to remind your children to wait on the sidewalk until a crossing guard tells them they are okay to cross.
