Tai Chi Gung
7Join us for Tai Chi Gung! Tai Chi Gung is a system of health and longevity begun by Lao Tzu more than 3000 years ago. That's a long time! TCG was born out of 50 years of Lao Tzu immersed in Nature, seeking her guidance. It is the art and science of connecting to the force that sustains all life. It was born from Nature herself. One of Lao Tzu's most famous quotes is "A man with outward courage dares to die; a man with inner courage dares to live."

My teachers are Master Lama Rasaji Shakti and Master David Paul. Master Lama Rasaji Shakti is the Global Spokesperson for the Lamasery in Tibet. Master David Paul is the only certified Tai Chi Gung Master (next to Master Lama Rasaji Shakti) of Lao Tzu’s 3000 year unbroken lineage living in the United States. He has been practicing Tai Chi Gung daily for more than 36 years, teaching classes and leading seminars for 25 years. Master David currently serves as the director of teacher training in North America for his mentor Master Lama Rasaji. I attend a weekly 2 hour live online Tai Chi Gung Teacher Training class with Master David Paul and Master Lama Rasaji Shakti, and I attend Master David's 4 weekly live classes which you may also access on circleofchi.com/penni
Master David Paul is a master violinist. He has learned to draw the chi or life force up from the earth and project it through the music as he plays. He records the piano part first and then adds violin during the concerts. To help audiences connect more deeply, each piece also features the Nature photos and videos that inspired the music in the first place. I will be playing recordings of Master David Paul's music during the classes that I teach! Here are some examples of the music. Enjoy!
Do I have to twist in knots like a pretzel?
Lao Tzu’s Tai Chi Gung is sometimes called the simple yoga. We do gentle standing exercises that connect us to the life force in Nature and learn to breathe the energy. I will be teaching the 4 Main Tai Chi Gung Standing Exercises, then follow with more advanced exercises when the class is ready.
Figure Eights
Lao Tzu discovered that when the right and left side of the body are balanced correctly, a third regenerative energy is released. More than 90% of the human race never taps into this energy.
Body Twist
Spending more than 50 years immersed in Nature, Lao Tzu wondered, “Trees live for hundreds of years. If I move energy as they do, can I also learn to live as long as they do?” Turns out, he was right.
Crane
Noticing how moisture is blown up a mountainside and then comes down as rain or snow, Lao Tzu investigate how this flow is mirrored in the physical body. He discovered it is central to regeneration.
Tai Chi Swim
Most students feel the energy in their very first live class during Tai Chi Swim. To master energy, one must feel it physically. The Lama’s of Tibet call this “having a biological experience of the Divine.”
