Fireworks Safety Tips: Be aware of dry grass/brush in the area. Do not launch fireworks near structures or vehicles. Only allow responsible adults to discharge fireworks. Have a water source readily available in case a fire is started, like a hose or bucket. Do not hold fireworks in your hands. After lighting fireworks, step away from them to avoid blast injuries. Lemonade Stand ChallengeThe Kaysville Fire Department and Kaysville Police Department are having a friendly competition to see how many lemonade stands they can visit this summer. Not only do our firefighters and police officers get a refreshing beverage from it, but it is helping to build a connection with the community's youngest residents. It also helps kids to see that they aren't something to be afraid of. If you would like the Kaysville Fire and Kaysville Police to come visit your child's lemonade (or any variety of refreshment) stand, you can reach them at: Kaysville Fire Department - 801-544-2860 Kaysville Police Department - 801-546-1131

Got Sandbags?Residents that have sandbags are responsible for properly disposing of them after use. Sandbags that have been in contact with flood water can be contaminated with sewage, pathogens, and chemicals from the floodwater. Please do not dispose your filled sandbags in your trash or recycle bins as they can become too heavy and can become a safety issue for our waste disposal folks. Also do not dispose of them in a commercial dumpster. You can take used sandbags to the landfill. Normal dumping fees will apply. Do not put sandbags in creeks, canals, ditches, roadway gutters, storm drain inlets, or close to banks where they could fall in and could lead to further flooding complications. The City cannot reuse sandbags as the bag material isn't durable over prolonged use or time.
