I have a deep passion for public service and over the past two decades, I've dedicated myself to collaborating with elected officials at all levels of government in various roles. This experience has provided me with a profound understanding of the role of government, and the practical tools needed to thoughtfully evaluate public policies and ensure the responsible management of our tax dollars. I currently serve as the Northern Utah Director and Military Affairs Advisor to Senator Mike Lee. In my day-to-day responsibilities, I study a multitude of issues and work closely with local, state, and federal officials to solve problems and make our communities better.
Nearly eight years ago, my wife and I made Kaysville, "Utah's Hometown," our home. We hold a deep affection for this community and its people. Preserving the legacy and charm of our city, no matter how small my contribution, is the driving force behind my decision to run for city council.
As your council member and voice, I am committed to prioritizing the following seven principles:
1. Promoting responsible development that fits our values and heritage.
2. Advocating for a fiscally responsible city budget.
3. Prioritizing transparent and respectful communication.
4. Supporting common-sense policies.
5. Strengthening essential and basic city services.
6. Enhancing the aesthetics and beauty of our city.
7. Encouraging robust public engagement and a cohesive community.
My current responsibilities on the council include serving on the Legislative Policy Committee, advocating for our city's needs to the Utah League of Cities & Towns, and championing our interests against overbearing state policies. In my last two years of serving on council, I've helped find ways to reduce our city's expenses, opposed undesirable development, worked to enhance development agreement plans, advocated for enhancing our trails and beautifying our city’s landscaping, pushed for additional resources to repair sidewalks and improve power infrastructure, and have actively worked towards revitalizing our downtown to support local businesses and to attract new ones.
It would be an honor to continue serving the residents of Kaysville on our city council and I humbly ask for your vote.
