Trader Joes Kaysville Rendition

Kaysville City Launches City Supported, Community-Driven Campaign to bring in Trader Joe’s

In order to get the attention of Trader Joe's and show them how much Kaysville wants a store, the city has launched a city-supported, community-driven grassroots campaign. The goal is to get 100,000 people to reach out to Trader Joe's by the end of May, requesting that they consider opening a store in Kaysville. This is an ambitious goal, but one that the city believes is achievable with the help of people from all over the region.

There are many reasons why Kaysville would be the perfect location for a Trader Joe’s.  Kaysville's central location in Davis County makes it an ideal spot for Trader Joe's to expand their market. Accessible via I-15, and minutes from other major cities, Kaysville is a convenient location for people from all over the region to shop.

The property owners of the Bennion Craft building are fully supportive of the plan to bring Trader Joe's to the city. They understand the benefits that the store would bring to the community, both in terms of increased foot traffic and economic growth. This support from property owners is essential to making the project a success.

Bringing a Trader Joe's to Kaysville would also lead to an increase in sales tax revenue for the city. This additional revenue could be used to fund various city projects and services, infrastructure, parks, and public safety. Moreover, the presence of a popular grocery store like Trader Joe's would help to revitalize the downtown area of Kaysville. The store would attract more foot traffic, which would in turn bring more business to existing local shops and restaurants. This could create a thriving downtown, with more places for residents and visitors to shop, eat, and socialize.

In short, the addition of a Trader Joe's in Kaysville would have numerous benefits for the city and its residents. From increasing sales tax revenue and creating jobs to revitalizing the downtown area and attracting more visitors to the region, a Trader Joe's would be a significant asset to the community. If you’re interested in helping with the campaign to bring Trader Joe’s to Kaysville, you can go to the Trader Joe’s Website and request that a store come to Kaysville.

Landscape Lawn Exchange

New "Landscape Lawn Exchange" Program (Previously "Flip Your Strip")

On May 4, 2023, the Kaysville City Council approved an ordinance which allows Kaysville residents to be able to participate in the "Landscape Lawn Exchange" program with Weber Basin Water Conservancy District (WBWCD). This was previously known as the "Flip Your Strip" program. Under this lawn replacement program, lawn areas anywhere in your yard can be removed and replaced with low-water landscaping to qualify for an incentive. This is not a rebate program, but rather an incentive to assist you in the cost of re-landscaping to be more water efficient.

Program participants will apply for the program using the Utah Water Savers Website (www.utahsavers.com). The application must be completed in full. WBWCD staff will review applications as they come in to approve participation in the program. Application must be approved before removing the lawn and starting the program.

For more information about the program, and to review the process and requirements, visit: https://weberbasin.com/Conservation/Rebates.
